Arpit Kaushik

Stack up like shells and stones
my recollections in linear patterns.
Inscribe my name, in sand, my place.
Invite the waves to crash, erase
this yearning sense of what they say is home.

(excerpt from Arpit's poem 'Belonging', from his debut poetry pamphlet 'What we say is home')

"This is a very promising debut, entrancing in its pungent detail, which is put to the service of straightforward and movingly tender poems"
